About Davenport Therapy

I’m an accredited CBT therapist with over 10 years’ experience of working in NHS settings alongside my private practice. I am also a CBT supervisor and tutor on a diploma course, which enables me to keep up to date with the latest research and evidence base for best practice.

Being a BABCP accredited practitioner means that I abide by their standards of conduct, performance and ethics, and commit to maintaining these standards through continuing professional development.

I use an integrative approach to therapy, drawing on CBT and ‘third wave’ approaches where helpful, such as Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which ensures that therapy is tailored to the client and their individual needs.

Making therapy more accessible for those that may otherwise struggle to access talking therapies is something I feel passionate about, and my background in Speech and Language Therapy enables me to adapt my communication style to meet the needs of the client.

I offer an initial 15-minute phone call for free, to learn more about your therapy goals and expectations, and ensure that we’re the right fit for each other. This is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you have about the therapy process.

I offer weekday and evening appointments both in person at a comfortable practice in Edinburgh, and online.
